We turn problems on the ground into projects, and projects into results

CROPP — the Center for Rural Development and Sustainable Production — is a non-profit association based in Velika Kladuša, Bosnia and Herzegovina. We connect farmers, experts and institutions through advisory work, training, protection of natural and cultural heritage, and rural tourism development.

What we do

Four pillars of our work

Advisory work and training

Expert advice for producers and workshops on soil analysis, fertilisation, plant protection and registers. Knowledge and management decide profitability more than any subsidy.

Details

Heritage and rural tourism

Trails, viewpoints, veteran trees, watermills and the ethnographic collection. We turn what has been preserved into a reason to come and stay.

Details

Environment and climate resilience

Protection of soil, water and biodiversity, monitoring and adaptation to climate change. Green standards are an opportunity to modernise, not just an obligation.

Details

Health and community

Public health panels, prevention work and programmes for young people in rural areas. Community health is part of rural development, not a separate topic.

Projects

What we have delivered

CROPP's flagship projects — from trails and veteran trees to panels, workshops and festivals.

Ongoing

Trails of Time — Kudići

Over 14.5 km of marked trails, the Nera viewpoint, the Redžići watermills, veteran trees and an Info Point in the old school. The project that turns Kudići into a destination rather than a dot on the map.

In procedure

Natural Monument — the veteran lime and chestnut

A lime tree estimated at 350–500 years old and a sweet chestnut at 280–350 years. CROPP produced the expert study and launched the procedure to have them declared a natural monument.

Delivered

Panel: "Is cancer really on the rise in Velika Kladuša?"

The first public debate in Kladuša where an oncologist, a paediatrician and a cancer researcher separated what the data shows from what people say. A full hall and questions to the end.
